DIY: India Flag Using Tricolor Rice on the India Map

Materials needed:

- White rice

- Food coloring (orange, green, and white)

- Ziplock bags / bowls

- India map printout

- Glue Gun

- Paintbrush

Instructions:

1. Begin by preparing the rice. Divide it into three equal portions and place each portion in a separate Ziplock bag/bowl.

2. Add a few drops of orange food coloring to one bag/bowl, green food coloring to another bag/bowl, and leave the third bag as is, containing white rice.

3. If using bags, seal the bags and massage them gently until the food coloring is evenly distributed and the rice is completely colored. If using bowl, mix using spoon or paintbrush gently until the food coloring is evenly distributed and the rice is completely colored.

4. Take the India map printout and apply glue to the area representing the orange part of the Indian flag using a paintbrush.

5. Carefully sprinkle the orange rice over the glued area, ensuring that it sticks to the glue. Gently tap off any excess rice.

6. Repeat the process for the green part of the Indian flag, applying glue to the corresponding area on the map and sprinkling green rice over it.

7. Finally, apply glue to the remaining white area of the flag and sprinkle white rice over it.

8. Allow the glue to dry completely before handling the finished piece.

9. Use glue to attach the Ashoka Chakra to the center of the white stripe on the flag. You can draw or print the Ashoka Chakra design and color it appropriately using markers or colored pencils.

By following these simple steps, you can create a DIY India flag using tricolor rice on the India map. This unique craft project can be a fun and educational activity, teaching about the colors and symbolism of the Indian flag while also exploring the geography of India.
